Shannon received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Alabama. She completed her internship in Athens, GA and has continued her career in The Classic City ever since. Shannon has worked primarily with elementary-aged clients, including providing counseling services within a local elementary school. Her experience spans a range of settings, from an intensive residential program to a local private practice.
She incorporates creativity, play, and art into her therapy techniques—especially in her work with children—to help them build the skills needed to navigate their current challenges. Shannon takes a client-centered, solution-focused approach, working collaboratively with clients to strengthen their coping strategies and overall well-being. Shannon enjoys working with neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ clients, and she strives to create a welcoming, affirming space where all individuals feel seen and supported.
She looks forward to working with you and/or your child to build resilience and foster meaningful growth.
