Jeannie Latimer, LPC

Jeannie has over 30 years’ experience in individual and group counseling in agencies, private practice and hospital settings. She engages clients in a safe, trusting environment to help them identify their strengths and resiliency as they work to overcome personal challenges. Clients leave each session with increased understanding of their “authentic selves” and skills to help them navigate their daily lives and stresses.

Through a combination of therapies tailored to each client’s needs, Jeannie employs existential, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), solution focused and client centered techniques as part of her practice. She works with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, trauma, grief, eating disordered behaviors, PTSD and self-esteem. She is also especially interested in working with clients on COVID related issues and how it affects one’s daily life and families.

Jeannie has a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Georgia and received her Master’s and Specialist degree in Counseling from University of Florida. She worked as a therapist at University of Florida Counseling Center for 30 years as well as engaging in private practice for adults. She most recently worked at UGA Counseling and Psychological Services as a staff therapist. Her career also included counseling at Northside Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta.
